Firstly – I extend my Thanks to the City of Gold Coast for this opportunity. Here are some images of my process – from a design draft – to final design to application in the Urban environment. This design is Inspired by photograph of Lake Hugh Muntz , and painting by French painter Georges Seurat Sunday on Le grande jatte. The theme focuses on “Urban Birdlife”. Its about embracing some of our everyday ‘common’ native birds, that are often looked down upon as being scavengers or pests, yet they all play a vital role in biodiversity and have adapted themselves successfully to our ‘Urban’ environment. I use a semi-abstract hand painted style , using organically drawn shapes to symbolise nature in the urban environment. The native Dandelion is also featured to further the message that even though it maybe common – it has many diverse uses as part of our natural biodiversity. These are 8 birds one may encounter when visiting Lake Hugh Muntz. #lakehughmuntz #cityofgoldcoast
