I am humbled and honoured to have my Portrait of Australian Photographer Rod Mc Nicol selected as a Semi-finalist in Australia’s Grandest ART Prize. Thankyou Dear Rod Mc Nicol for giving me the opportunity to enter my painting of you. Thankyou Doug Moran Arts Foundation for giving artists like myself this fortuitous opportunity. Thanks the judges Lucy Culliton, Gerard Vaughan and Peter Moran.

The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize was established in 1988 to support artists striving to achieve success and recognition in portraiture.

Artists are required to interpret the look and personality of a chosen sitter, either unknown or well known from any walk of Australian life.

The three judges will spend the next two weeks deliberating over the semi-finalists before selecting the final 30 portraits on Thursday, 3 November.

The winner will be announced on 30 November 2022 and will receive $150,000 in prize money.
