Daneel’s musicality and passion will radiate through her performance to leave you captivated. Her songs are soulful, universally truthful, melodic and raw. Stylistically she draws from pop, blues and rock hooks, but has a strong emphasis on groove – regardless of whether the song is a stomper or a ballad.
Bio
Daneel started her musical journey as an adolescent, bedroom banging to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lenny Kravitz, Melissa Etheridge, the Spice Girls (!!!), ABBA and Kylie. At the age of 16 she joined her first band – the woefully named covers act, “Chart Attack”. In this she thumped the bass. She kept thumping along on the bass in a slew of other cover bands until she answered the gnawing call of banshees to run off and make original music.And this she did – she joined a riot grrl power pop trio by the name of Bitchslap, REALLY thumping on the bass.Next up was Miso – a beautiful concoction of hip hop beats, motown-flavoured guitar, socially conscious messages, groovy bass lines, luscious harmonies, and the occasional brass section featuring French horn. As you do! Daneel’s role was bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and all round vibe-bringer.Currently Daneel is playing rhythm guitar in Australia’s only all girl AC/DC Tribute, Her Way To Hell. But it was in Miso that Daneel truly blossomed as a writer, and the fruits of her labour are on show today!
